Townhill Wood

Townhill Wood covers an area of 39.5 hectares. Although there have been woods in Townhill for centuries the majority of the trees standing today were planted between 1914 and 1939. The woodland is used extensively for formal and informal recreational pursuits and education, and boasts a good network of paths. In the past few years Townhill Wood has become a good focus for volunteers and groups seeking to learn new skills and team building or just to experience the freedom of the woodland.

The main vehicle access into the woodland is found at the end of Wilson Street or at the North end of Townhill village Main Street on the left.

We are very interested to hear your views on our sites. We'd appreciate it if you could take 5 minutes to complete this form and help the site ranger continue to improve the site for all to enjoy.
