Glen Vale Car Park

A small car park on a minor road between Strathmiglo and Glenlomond. This is the starting point for a trip into the Lomond Hills Regional Park through Glen Vale, one of if not the most interesting and diverse walks in the area. This is a stunning trail and will take you past many interesting features and wildlife including John Knox Pulpit (named as it is believed to be a spot where covenanters held conventicles in the 17th century). You’ll start in woodland then as you climb you’ll follow the burn all the way to its source, Harperleas reservoir, about 2.5 miles from the car park. If you go all the way up through Glen Vale; Harperleas reservoir offers an excellent spot to stop for a much deserved break before heading back. You can also turn off the main track before you reach Harperleas and make your way to West Lomond summit.

The car park can best be reached by making your way to Strathmiglo Community Hall, then following the long straight road to the car park which is just before the entrance to Glen Vale (this is marked by a large tanker on the right of the road).
