July has been another cracking month for high temperatures and fine days, virtually no rain until the end of the month which ended with some tropical downpours. This weather has been great for flying insects and butterflies. Not a huge species range but a good number of those present. Birdlife has seen a fair bit of late breeding and a lot of non-breeders loafing around, something to do with the defined late spring?
