Fife is the Number One destination for Outdoor Recreation!

Thursday, June 16, 2011

The Annual Scottish Recreation Survey has named Fife as the number one destination for outdoor recreation again.

The report, commissioned by Scottish Natural Heritage and published this month shows the results for 2009. Some of the key findings in the report were:

  • 13% of all visits to the outdoors took place in the Kingdom of Fife. This equates to 22.7 million visits each year.
  • Fife has the biggest increase in visits in the last four years, up from 7% in 2006 to 13% in the latest report.
  • 56% of Fife's residents visited the outdoors at least once a week.
