Born and raised in Fife, I joined the board in September 2015. Educated at the University of St Andrews, I completed a degree in mathematics, going on to obtain a doctorate in the field of solar physics from the same institution, before qualifying as a chartered accountant with a local North East Fife firm.
With a varied background both in accounting practice and within business, I have a broad financial expertise, with particular specialist knowledge of rural issues and charity governance gained from his roles as estate accountant with Scone Palace and finance manager with St Leonards School, respectively.
In my spare time I enjoy exploring the outdoors, and cycling and walking. I am a passionate fundraiser for charitable and community causes, organising and undertaking an annual hike across Fife from the Forth Bridge to the Tay Bridge for local beneficiaries.
