The Leslie to Markinch section of the Fife Pilgrim Way enjoys woodland walks along the River Leven. Keep an eye out for the resident wildlife, including grey wagtails and dippers. Other interesting features include Balbirnie Park and Stone Circle, Markinch Hill and the town’s ancient Stob Cross. In the lower part of Balbirnie Park, the route turns left at the golf clubhouse along the burn, where coal seams are visible. You will exit just below the 12th century church which is open daily and has toilets.
