Elie Harbour

Weever Fish: With recent great beach weather and high temperatures it is firmly bathing season at the beach, this will bring more people in contact with the potential for a weever fish encounter. We have had 2 encounters at Elie Harbour Beach recently. Please be vigilant and if possible wear water shoes or trainers at lower tides when paddling off sandy beaches.

At low tide Elie Harbour Beach links with Elie’s Earlsferry Beach, providing almost a mile of uninterrupted golden sand. It is popular with families and is also famed for watersports. The sheltered bay means it is not too windy so is good for beginners who like to try their hand at try windsurfing, canoeing and waterskiing.

Facilities include toilets, lifeguards and first aid (seasonal), disabled access and parking.

Elie Harbour Beach holds a Keep Scotland Beautiful 2023 Beach Award.

Elie Harbour toilet (seasonal opening) has been recognised in the National Loo of the Year Awards.
