Historic Inverkeithing is home to several historic sites, including its medieval Hospitium and Friary, where countless pilgrims took their rest. The Inverkeithing to Dunfermline section of the Fife Pilgrim Way trail continues through woods and farmland. Look for flocks of goldfinch and other small birds inhabiting the hedgerows.
Please be vigilant in Rosyth where the route shares an access road to Rosyth Football club training ground.
Today Inverkeithing is still providing a warm welcome for weary travellers walking the Fife Pilgrim Way and the Fife Coastal Path. To find out more visit Welcome to Fife. And to learn more about Inverkeithing’s medieval history why not visit The Story of Fife Pilgrim Kingdom.
