Seasonal Countryside Wardens

Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) are seeking 2 Seasonal Countryside Wardens to join our dynamic and effective Conservation & Engagement team who will be an integral part in driving our work forward.

Location:

Post 1: Silver Sands Beach, Aberdour, KY3 0RQ

Post 2: The Toft, Elie and Earlsferry, KY9 1DT

Salary: £24,890.91 to £27,087.17

Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week (working Thursday to Monday)

Contract Type: Temporary till no later than 31st October 2026

Closing Date: Sunday 22nd February; 23:59 with interviews expected to take place week commencing 2nd and/or 9th March. We are looking for candidates to start ASAP and would be able to commit to the role until the end of October.

About the role:

The postholder will report to the Access and Recreation Officers. They will help oversee the day-to-day management and responsible access at certain FCCT sites in accordance with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code and deliver the obligations identified in the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with key stakeholders.  

About you:

  • Educated to SCQF level 6, which includes an HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject (e.g., Countryside Management). Time-served experience in a relevant position will also be considered (desirable).
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 and how it affects access rights.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Good track record of collaborative working, developing, and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Good standard of communication skills.
  • Responsible character, confident and capable of working independently.
  • Confident talking to and conveying FCCT messages to a wide range of people.
  • A suitable standard of fitness (able to walk 15 miles and use hand tools like saws and spades) and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Confident and approachable demeanour.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and be diplomatic, but also assertive.
  • Proactive and hard-working attitude.
  • A bias towards action.
  • A demonstrable personal interest in the countryside and the outdoors.
  • Excellent team player
  • Diplomatic, flexible, and empathetic to other views whilst able to get own opinions across.

Seasonal Mobile Car Park Operative

Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) are seeking a Seasonal Mobile Car Park Operative to join our dynamic and effective Operations team.

Location: Aberdour Silver Sands, KY3 0RJ

Salary: £25,885.80 to £28,175.91

Hours: Part-time, 16.5 hours per week (Friday to Sunday; 09:45 – 16:15)

Contract Type: Fixed Term till 25th October 2026

Closing Date: Friday 13th Feb 2026, 23:59hrs. We are looking for candidates to start ASAP from 27th March 2026 and would be able to commit to the role until 25th October 2026.

About the role:

As a Seasonal Mobile Car Park Operative, your role will be to enforce parking rules and assist in the efficient management of off-street parking within all carparks and land under the management of FCCT throughout Fife. This will involve promotion of the PCN and other parking permit schemes.

About you:

We are looking for a flexible individual to join our team. You will bring with you the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in dealing with the public in a customer focussed environment
  • Experience of working within a car parking environment
  • The ability to clearly understand information given in numbers, symbols, diagrams, and charts for different purposes expressed in graphic, numerical and written formats. E.g. Numeracy and literacy skills
  • The ability to travel throughout Fife
  • Full valid driving licence
  • A basic understanding of the regulations and legislation relating to parking enforcement
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills (English)
  • Organisational, administrative skills and an attention to detail.,
  • Experience of undertaking first line maintenance or technical support.
  • An optimistic disposition with a realistic but firmly positive outlook in the pursuit of challenging objectives.
  • A genuine collaborative approach to problem solving and the ability to be creative and self-less in the pursuit of organisational objectives.

Seasonal Litter Operatives

Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) are seeking 2 Seasonal Litter Operatives to join our Operations team.

Location: Leven Heritage Yard, Burnmill Road, Leven, KY8 4RA

Salary: £24,740.74

Post 1: Part-time, 33 hours per week (Monday to Wednesday; 07:00 – 19:00)

Post 2: Part-time, 33 hours per week (Friday to Sunday; 07:00 – 19:00)

Contract Type: Fixed Term till 30th September 2026

Closing Date: Friday 13th Feb 2026, 23:59hrs. We are looking for candidates to start ASAP from 27th March 2026 and would be able to commit to the role until 30th September 2026.

About the role:

As a Seasonal Litter Operative, your role will be to clean and maintain the public conveniences on the Coastal area, carry out any other cleaning duties under the direction of the Litter Lead Hand and remove litter from beaches, grass areas, roads, paths etc. using the necessary tools and equipment.

About you:
