The Limekiln Trail can be accessed from East Lomond car park or Craigmead car park. The path follows the route of an old drovers’ road.
The Lomond Hills were once home to a range of industrial activities including mining, quarrying and limekilns. The limekiln has become a haven for wildlife. Over time the lime pits have become ponds, home to a range of wildlife including jewelled dragonflies.
Route Information: Wide firm, grassy path with long fairly steep section leading down to Craigmead Car Park. The paths can be muddy after rain.
