Local Nature Reserves (LNRs) can be all sorts of places – woodlands, wetlands, meadows or coastal sand dunes.
They provide wild spaces where plants and animals, both common and rare, can thrive. In particular LNRs also offer unique opportunities to explore or study your local nature, or to simply enjoy a gentle walk.
Fife Coast and Countryside Trust manages four LNRs in Fife such as Birnie & Gaddon Lochs. We maintain the paths and features throughout these sites and try and help users learn about and enjoy them through interpretation and events.
The Trust is always keen to improve Local Nature Reserves and other sites in Fife. We rely on the enthusiasm and generosity of our volunteers and other supporters to do so.
