The Lomond Hills was once home to a range of industrial activities including mining, quarrying and limekilns. The limekiln has become a haven for wildlife. Over time the lime pits have become ponds, home to a range of wildlife including jewelled dragonflies.
Route Information: Wide firm, grassy path with long fairly steep section leading down to Craigmead Car Park. The paths can be muddy after rain.
